Meetings and Attendance
Monthly Membership Meeting
1st Thursday of Each Month
12:00 - 2:00 p.m.
Golf Club at Indigo Run
Attendance at the Monthly Membership Meeting is required by the by-laws. If you are unable to attend an upcoming meeting, email the Attendance Committee Chairperson at member@zontahhi.org. If you do not call and do not attend, your absence will be marked as an unexcused absence. More than two consecutive unexcused absences may result in action by the Board of Directors.
Service, Fund Raising and Committees
Each member is assigned to at least two groups of the organization-a general committee and a fundraising team. New members will be given committee assignments following induction. If you have a special interest or expertise in a specific committee, please advise your sponsor or the club president.
The club produces at least one major fund-raising event each year. All members are required to participate in fund-raising. The project(s) is recommended by the fund-raising committee and voted upon by the membership. Member participation can come in any form, including sales of function tickers and/or direct contribution.
Allocation of funds to support non-profit organizations is recommended by the service committee and voted upon by the membership. Consideration is given to organizations that support women and/or children. Members are encouraged to offer suggestions to the service committee for worthwhile organizations and projects for funding.
By membership vote, service projects are supported by the organization. All members are encouraged to participate in service projects to the extent possible.
Scholarships
Zonta annually awards the Margaret Gould Z-Club Scholarship to a deserving high school senior young woman who is planning to attend college. In addition, the Martha Baumberger Young Woman in Public Affairs Award is presented to a young woman in high school selected for her potential leadership in social, policy making, government and volunteer organizations.
Fellowship
A significant part of the personal value of Zonta is the opportunity for fellowship and networking with members. Fellowship activities are held periodically throughout the year. All members are encouraged to participate.
