WHAT IS SCRIP AND HOW DOES IT WORK

Scrip is a term that means "substitute money". Scrip is one way that your Zonta Club makes money. When our members purchase scrip, they are purchasing negotiable gift certificates that are used just like cash. The national and local retailers issue the scrip where many of you already shop. These merchants want to support non-profit organizations, and in return ask you to support them by shopping with scrip at their stores. Our Club members ca scrip to purchase everyday expenses like clothing and other essentials, and with every purchase, earn revenue fo Zonta Club. Remember, if you have some co-workers that want to order, they are welcome.

The subsequent pages of this worksheet have lists of every retailer in the program as of November 10, 2005. The change from time to time. New ones come on and older ones leave. We will work out a system for keeping you in You will find a worksheet for Retail Stores, Restaurants, Other Scrip Providers, Lodging & Travel, Groceries, and Gas.

The program works like this. You let me know what you would like to order by printing a worksheet or just writing the retailer and the denomination you what. Then determine how many of that certificate you want to order. Then call, fax or email me. We pay a handling charge to get scrip to HH, so I need to pool your orders. However, we ca get scrip from any of the local participants any time.

If you order more that $100 in scrip you can charge it to your Visa or MasterCard. We will charge your account for amount of the scrip. You will need to write Zonta a check for the credit card handling charge that is computed by t the Transaction Amount x .0315 + .40. (i.e. $100 x .0315 + .40 =$3.55)
