The Young Women in Public Affairs
Program was established in 1990
by Past International President
Leneen Forde.
The goal of the award is to encourage
more young women to participate in
public affairs by recognizing a
commitment to the volunteer sector, evidence of volunteer leadership acheivements and a dedication to the advancement of the status of women.
We are now excepting applications for the Young Women in Public Affairs Award. Eligible candidates are young women between the age of 16 and 19 who demonstrate a commitment to leadership in public policy, government and volunteer organizations. The winner will be awarded $500.00 and be submitted to the district level. The district level award is an additional $1000.00 and the district winner also becomes a candidate for the International award of $3,000.00.
